Across the fiercely contested realm of gaming, it's typical for fresh competitors to disappear as quickly as they burst on to the stage.
But this new installment is striving to change that.
Here comes the latest entry in a long-standing military shooter line often positioned as a more authentic answer to its main competitor.
The title has never quite been able to equal its most famous rival in aspects of sales or gamers, but evidence points to the recent entry could reduce the distance.
A preview weekend giving users a shot to experience the release not long ago broke records, and the hype leading up to its launch has been immense.
However the undertaking is nonetheless a big gamble for company the gaming giant, which has according to sources invested hundreds of millions of funds developing it.
We have spoken to several the makers to learn how they hope it will succeed.
Creation Team and Company Collaboration
Four teams were working on the project under the Battlefield Studios umbrella.
Among them are veteran developer Dice, based in Europe, Los Angeles-based Motive team and Ripple Effect in Canada.
The fourth, Criterion, is situated in the UK.
Rebecka Coutaz is the executive of the pair of European studios, and tells reporters that, in regards of what it's delivering gamers, "Battlefield 6 is probably unmatched."
Building On Past Mistakes
The game comes off the heels of the advanced Battlefield 2042, released previously to a poor reception it struggled to recover from.
"It's likely that we would not be able to make and develop the latest entry lacking the learnings we had in the previous title," the manager shares with us.
One of those insights was to get fans participating early, and the team launched closed fan testing sessions earlier this year.
Their "feedback was incredibly encouraging," states Rebecka.
A further missing element from the previous installment was a solo experience, which has been reintroduced this time around.
The UK studio creative lead the design director is the individual responsible for "guaranteeing those levels are as enjoyable and compelling as can be for the audience."
Regardless of allegations that the size of the game had challenged the different developers partnering globally to create the game, Fas is optimistic about the work.
"Working with diverse perspectives, varied backgrounds, it's a really engaging atmosphere to be part of on a regular basis," he shares.
"This whole method has been something new but something truly thrilling because we are working with team members from all over the world."
As for the pressure on the developers, Fas states: "We experience stress but additionally it's thrilling.
"This is a big undertaking. It's probably the largest that many of us have previously worked on."
Emerging Developer Contributes New Perspective
This is definitely accurate of at least a single developer, lighting artist Vlad.
The 21-year-old creates the visual ambiance that define the mood, tone, and narrative of the story mode.
He finished an work placement at Criterion before obtaining a job at the company, and presently operates on a part-time basis while completing his VFX studies at Bournemouth University.
Vlad explains he's a long-time supporter of the franchise, and recalls playing the earlier title of the line at a pal's home when he was in his youth.
Being on it at present, as his first career position, "doesn't feel real."
"It's really crazy witnessing the advertising all around," he says.
"To know that I have added my personal touch into the project is really surreal."
