Football Expert Chris Sutton Takes On Artist Olly Murs in Top Flight Forecasts

The Gunners' ten-match victorious streak came to an end by Sunderland prior to the international break, however will the Premier League leaders bounce back against local foes Tottenham this Sunday?

"{I feel like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a plan for this match," stated soccer specialist Chris Sutton.

"The Spurs manager will try to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating best this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's side typically still find a way to win."

The analyst is making predictions for all 380 Premier League fixtures this season, against artificial intelligence, readers and a range of special visitors.

In the twelfth round, he takes on singer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United supporter.

The singer's latest record, Knees Up, is available on the weekend.

Soccer and Parenting Experiences

Olly is a skilled footballer as well as a successful artist and has been a star of several Soccer Aid games down the years - but he is not intending a professional return as a player.

"{I actually played in a charity game the other evening for a mate of mine," he said. "My side was trailing 3-1 when I came off in the 60th minute, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you will!

"I continue to love football, but I hurt my knee a few years ago and it even now isn't where I want it to be. I wish I could play more but the unpredictability of the sport means it's too dangerous for me in my profession to do it seriously again.

"Additionally I am 41 now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am preparing for the moment that my child or boy chooses to play instead."

The singer and his spouse his partner have a young family, their daughter and Albert, and he is ready to emulate his dad by taking on the role of their manager.

"I will not force football on our children but I've previously told my wife that if they do get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will probably be managing their weekend football team," he added.

"I observed my nephews play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I obviously owned a soccer team for a period too.

"My father did it with us when I was a kid, which is probably where I inherited it. He managed our side for two or three seasons and had great fun with it. That might be the future for me as well, and I am excited to it!"

Premier League Predictions

Weekend, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

The Blues may have to be patient for Cole Palmer's comeback from injury but their attack is already more potent with Joao Pedro and Delap both back fit.

In my opinion this fixture will be fairly close, however. The Clarets are well organised and their only at Turf Moor losses so far have been against Liverpool and Arsenal.

This suggests a 1-1 tie to me, but I am actually going to choose Chelsea to edge it for what would be their third Premier League win in a row.

Sutton's forecast: 1-2

The singer's pick: The Blues will be too strong. 1-3

AI's prediction: 0-2

The Cherries have lost their past two games - albeit both of them were on the road - but they got thoroughly beaten by Villa last time out which surprised me.

On the other hand, the Hammers secured two in a row before the international break and, although both of those fixtures were at home, they appear competitive again.

The Hammers' only away victory this campaign came at Nottingham Forest in August, when West Ham manager Nuno was previously Forest coach.

So, what exactly do I predict here - can West Ham extending their run under Nuno, or Bournemouth responding?

I will choose Bournemouth, because I think what occurred against Villa was a anomaly.

The pundit's prediction: 2-0

Olly's prediction: Bournemouth are doing well but West Ham have picked up under their boss. 2-2

AI's pick: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Brentford were seen as one of the favourites for the drop before the campaign began, but they have impressed a few observers under their manager and are in fine fettle with three in their last four games.

My son told me to get Brentford forward Thiago in my fantasy soccer squad a few weeks back and, unfortunately, I didn't listen.

Thiago will probably find the net again on Saturday but I am still not going to pick him or support the away side at Brighton's ground.

The Bees have not had great fortune on the road this season, and the Seagulls are always decent at home. The visitors will try to hit them on the counter-attack but I think the home manager's side carry much more of a threat.

The analyst's prediction: 2-1

The singer's prediction: It could be one of those games where you expect there is going to be a many scores but it actually proves to be rather tight. 1-1

AI's outcome: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

This is a massive game for the Cottagers, who have suffered defeat in five of their last six matches.

Fulham have got lots of talent in their team but it nonetheless feels like they could be sucked into a drop zone battle.

Regarding the Black Cats, indeed they are the surprise package of the top flight campaign so far.

Their performance in the 2-2 draw with the Gunners last time out was excellent. We have not witnessed anyone else disrupt the Gunners like that this season, and Sunderland were more than a match for them.

The logical choice to do to support the Black Cats here, because they are obviously capable of roughing the hosts up too and, the last time they were in this part of London, they defeated Chelsea at the end of last month.

But I am not going to choose that. Instead, I truly need to continue opposing Sunderland with my forecasts. I am claiming a lot of credit for their good outcomes because they clearly love to defy my predictions.

Considering Fulham's at Craven Cottage record, the sole side they have lost to is the league leaders. Marco Silva's side will be extremely desperate for a good outcome, so I am going to predict they will secure three points.

Sutton's prediction: 1-0

The guest's prediction: I know the visitors are performing strongly and also that the hosts are on a bad run... but Fulham have still been respectable at home this season. 2-0

The algorithm's outlook: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

It is a hard one to predict. Liverpool have suffered seven of their last ten matches in every tournament, but could they be among the sides who profit from the {international break|
