Los Angeles experienced widespread festivities after the Los Angeles Dodgers won a nail-biting seven-match World Series title. Supporters worldwide joined local residents in jubilation, marking the first time in a quarter-century that a franchise has secured consecutive championships.

Celebration Parade Attracts Enormous Turnout

Local celebrations included a downtown parade on Monday morning, a reserved-seating event at the team's home stadium, and impromptu gatherings throughout the city.

Social media videos show thousands of Los Angeles residents flooding city center avenues, many displaying homemade signs and team flags. The squad was seen riding high on a open-top bus through the masses, raising the Commissioner’s trophy high.

“I’m already thinking about the third time we’re going to achieve this,” Shohei Ohtani remarked through an interpreter.

The parade route concluded at the stadium, where the players walked out to Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us,” with the renowned DJ providing music and the artist driving a light blue vintage Cadillac around the stadium’s outfield.

Early Celebrations and Player Reactions

Celebrations started prior to the parade, with Dodgers fans lighting fireworks in the streets of the city center on Sunday night.

Yoshinobu Yamamoto, named the MVP of the championship, commented plainly about the win.

“Losing is not an option,” Yamamoto said. “I adore this team. This city means everything to me.”

Mixed Reactions and City Unity

However, the team owner was met with a cooler reception at the rally. Recordings from the gathering seem to depict Walter walking onstage to a combination of cheers and boos, with negative shouts interrupting his address.

The World Series acted as a bright spot in what has been a trying year for Los Angeles. An estimated quarter-million people showed up to the championship parade last year, and according to Dodgers player Freddie Freeman, fans this year demonstrated as much if not more support.

“It seems it’s almost double from last year,” Freeman remarked. “The supporters are incredible. It’s truly amazing to be a part of this.”
