The Renowned Musician Urges Backing to Propel Together for Palestine Lullaby to UK Christmas No 1.
A campaign is aiming to launch a Palestinian lullaby to the Christmas number one spot. The project seeks to deliver assistance to Gaza's residents while also showcasing Palestinian culture and creativity.
A Chance for Unity and an "Surprise Victory"
Musician and artist Brian Eno, who features on the track, stated that the release called 'Lullaby' represents a chance to stand with Palestinians this festive season. He noted the potential for an unexpected chart success.
“That would be amazing if that came to pass, yes,” he stated. “I’m not gonna be completely let down if it fails to, festive releases are a category of their own.”
Powerful Theme of Dignity and Freedom
Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who sings on the version of a cultural piece called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the piece's resilient spirit.
“It occupies a deeply meaningful spot for countless listeners,” Barghouti shared. “The essence is that I would prefer a dignified death than spend my life without freedom. This is the primary message of the song; we desire to exist a life of dignity that we are entitled to as Palestinians.”
Track's Background and Contributing Musicians
The track was produced in the wake of a solidarity show held in September. Initially planned to be done as a live recording, the piece was shelved during the concert due to the event running long.
The notable list of performers featured on Lullaby features a selection of well-known figures from the music world. All were part of the earlier concert, which managed to collect a significant sum for humanitarian aid.
Final Touches and Availability
Lullaby was crafted by a group of producers and composers. The song showcases a combination of the traditional Arabic lyrics with new English lyrics.
The group managing the initiative have stated that their aim is to collect the highest amount for a specific fund. These resources will be channeled to Palestinian causes through an established charity.
“We don’t have a fixed goal,” a figure said. “We will pursue whatever we can get. Obviously, the higher the total, the greater the impact. It all goes out to Gaza.”
The situation in the area was described as its extreme devastation, with a overwhelming percentage of infrastructure said to be levelled or seriously harmed.
“In that context, a few million is unlikely to make a massive dent. But I think what truly matters is above all spreading knowledge of this plight and proving the human dimension of the story.”
The track is launching on Friday. Additionally, a complete film of the charity concert will be made ready to watch on a popular streaming site from later in the month.
